Teapot “Collectors Teaparty Jamboree” Fixed For June 11th At the Cardew Teapottery
In this day and age, it is dangerous to make a claim that you cannot substantiate but what the hell - here it goes!
On Saturday, June 11th 2005 at the Cardew Teapottery, the largest collection of teapot designers ever will gather in one spot to amuse, abuse, inform, question and generally get to know.
So far, this array of stars includes Tony Carter, Lorna Bailey (new baby permitting), Gary Seymour, Andy Titcomb, Jane and Ian Jeal of The Teapottery and of course, Paul Cardew who has a home game.
It’s a brand new idea, which should be fun and certainly not dull!
Each designer will be allocated some display space in order to present their latest work and indeed some of them may be persuaded to bring along a very special teapot just to commemorate the day.
At the moment, the formula for the event is still being worked on but at this point looks like including an auction of many of the designers’ prototypes, a question and answer forum, the chance to make your own teapot in the new Cardew Pottery Studio, delicious refreshments and last but not least, the possibility of a very festive barbecue on the Saturday night.
If you can make it, do come along as it is the very best way to ensure that all those lovely designers agree to get together again!
It will of course be “ego standing room only” so we will need notification as to your intention to come as it may well be that members have to be limited on the day.
Please confirm if you are joining us by e-mailing sharon@cardewdesign.com.
See you in June!!
