Largest All-Ceramics Sale in The Nation

The dates for the 2006 ceramic showcase at the Oregon Convention Centre, in Portland, have just been confirmed. The showcase will feature work from over 200 Northwest potters and sculpters and work, with a no-host bar, live music and Best Of Show presentations to keep everyone occupied throughout the weekend. The event starts Friday May 4th and finishes Sunday May 6th, open from 10-9 on Friday and Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday.
Along with a place for shoppers to leave their purchases as they wander around, there will also be a kiddies clay-play area to keep them occupied. All those selling work belong to the Oregon Potters Association, which has come far from humble beginnings 23 years ago. The showcase for 2006 is bigger still than last year, with 25 more booths and extended work galleries.
The presence of teapots amongst the pottery is very strong, providing an excellent chance to turn up early on the Friday and purchase new limited edition runs from the designers present. On the official webpage for the event, you can find some photographs of the kind of work that will be sold and shown, and examples of events from past years.
So for everyone in America and indeed for all our English members who are looking for the perfect excuse for a holiday, May 2006 looks like the month to mark in your diary.
