The Collectible Teapot & Tea Calendar Product Review

This review was written by Cheryl Lewis - BellaOnline’s Coffee & Tea Editor.

The Collectible Teapot & Tea Calendar has been available every year since 1996. It’s developed quite a following and after seeing the 2006 version, I can certainly see why!

This calendar is positively perfect for those who love tea and the Victorian theme. Every month of the year features a wonderful photo of some of the most beautiful teapots on the top 12″ x 12″ page. The teapots seem to be set in matching vignettes. The pictures all have a way of making you feel as if you’re stepping back in time to the Victorian age by using accent pieces that seem to be time-period specific. Some have antique tea accessories around them, while others feature typical formal-tea style foods. Some of the vignettes include old fashioned picture frames with wonderful old pictures in them. Flowers are expertly used in many of the photos.

The bottom 12″ x 12″ page is the calendar itself. Each month shows holidays for the US and other common holidays for countries such as Australia and Canada. The daily calendar blocks also offer plenty of space for writing in appointments or reminders that you often find on a calendar. The numbers are also an excellent size, in my opinion. They seem to be a slightly larger size in a classical elegant font. One other thing that I really like about this calendar is the border for each month is a different color, which is an added compliment to its elegant and sophisticated style.

Each month on the calendar also offers information on the teapot featured in the picture or some historical tea time tidbit. My personal favorite is Teatime With Mrs. Beeton, who was the author of The Book of Household Management. There’s also another area where the calendar offers tidbits on tea accesories, history or neat little factoids. Each month also offers a wonderful quote by someone famous or from a book.

I definitely recommend this calendar! I think it’s truly beautiful and would make an excellent gift at a very reasonable price. In fact, I plan to give at least two away as Christmas gifts this year. To me, it’s beautiful enough to let someone know that they are special and need to take a little time each day for a refreshing, relaxing cup of tea.
