A robot making tea?

The University of Japan have invented a new way of getting your cup of tea – in the form of a robot. The University have been studying how technology can support human life and have created a robot which has camera eyes and is able to pour tea into a cup.

Another robot which can move on wheels can then deliver the cup of tea to you. The robot uses sensors that are built into the floor, ceiling, and sofa to direct itself to you without spilling the cup of tea.

The reason behind the design of the robot is to aid elderly and disabled people for example who find simple jobs like making a cup of tea difficult and the designers are currently redesigning the robot to programme it to be able to wash the dishes too, however, at an unnamed price, the robot is likely to make you the most expensive cup of tea you’ve ever had!
