Harrods Tea Auction
Harrods will be holding a rare Tea Auction in their store restaurant on the 25th April from 6pm-8pm.
The London Tea Auction occurred annually from 1679 until 1998 but since then has stopped. This year will see the revival of the traditional auction, with all money raised going to charity.
The evening will start with distinguished guests from around the world tasting three of the rare teas which will be sold at auction. At the same time, there will be music playing from Roland Perrin whilst champagne and canapés will be available to guests.
After the tea tasting, the auction will start. The highlight of the auction will be 20 limited edition tea lots with tea from across the world going under the hammer.
Much of the tea comes from the private collection of a tea merchant and supplier to Harrods and are reputably some of the best tea in the world due to the fact that they are aged to perfection.
Tickets cost £50 and include champagne and canapés, but they are selling out quickly.
