Free Tea Recipes

We noticed this little snippet of news in theeagle.com yesterday, which looks quite interesting. How free the recipe collection actually is remains to be seen, but if any of you based in America decide to call the number, please do comment here and let us know how you get on:

Ten chefs have contributed a recipe that includes tea as an ingredient to the free collection “From Teapot To Table Top.” The booklet also includes details about types of teas - black, green, chai or white - as well as about heart health and tips for using tea.

Tea time’s hot again

As we stand at the doorway of the Scarlet Tea Room in Pasadena, my young companion, a college student more conversant with rock en español than with, say, clotted cream and lemon curd, turns to me with trepidation.

“Maybe I’m not dressed appropriately,” she says, looking down at her low-slung jeans and glitter-embellished top. Images of disapproving dowagers rise in both our minds — but we bravely open the door and step in.

Charm in a Teacup

Afternoon tea is back. Trish Lorenz finds the prettiest china and cakeware so you can enjoy it in style

Forget coffee mornings and cappuccino machines: afternoon tea is back in style, cucumber sandwiches and all.
The fashion for afternoon tea is reputed to have been started by a peckish Duchess of Bedford in 1830. The Victorians made it a great British custom, with wafer-thin sandwiches, platters of cakes and pots of tea accompanied by elegant china.

Choc Chics away!

Interior design business has room with a brew

Bill Andrews made his wife, Barbara, an offer she couldn’t refuse: If she agreed to open a Victorian tearoom, he’d send her to England on a tea tour.

Barbara promptly made two phone calls - one to invite a friend to accompany her and the second to her travel agent.

In October 2000, Barbara packed her bags and set off on a tea-packed excursion. She had a variety of tea experiences, ranging from quaint tearooms with cows grazing in nearby fields to the luxurious Savoy Hotel in London.
