Rhapsody in Pooh

Hi everyone

I have found another teapot which has always been a great favourite of our Disney teapot lovers.

Rhapdy

This “Rhapsody in Pooh” teapot was produced in March 2002 and features Pooh and his band of friends having a great time playing the blues.

This teapot took an amazing 6 months to produce, from the initial model, going through all the design approvals with Disney and then finally into production.

If anybody is interested in this teapot, do please let me know.

Speak to you all soon.

Teapot exhibition leaves much to ponder

By Roger Green
Booth Arts Writer

Look to China for the origin of teapots, whose production flourished 500 years ago in the YiXing region of Jiangsu province, 120 miles northeast of Shanghai. Fabricated from local “zisha” or purple clay, YiXing teapots held only one or two cups of tea, and so had compact bodies, mini lids and short spouts.

YiXing legacies, as they’ve been retained and changed, are spotlighted in “Tea Time: The Art of the Teapot,” a national invitational organized by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Continuing through July 15, the exhibit brings together 157 recently created teapots by ceramic artists from 39 states.

Teapot Quiz Congratulations

Many congratulations to Terry Stevens and Gill Martin who are the two winners of our “Teapot Quiz”.  Your teapot will be sent to you soon.

Many thanks to all of the collectors who took the time to hunt down the answers to the Quiz.

I will try and devise another quiz in due course!

Steeped in Art

Teapots offer uninhibited artwork of tasteful expression to Dixon exhibition.
By Fredric Koeppel

If your knowledge of teapots extends no farther than “I’m a little teapot, short and stout; here is my handle, here is my spout,” then you owe yourself a trip to Dixon Gallery and Gardens to see “The Artful Teapot: 20th Century Expressions from the Kamm Collection.”
The exhibition opens Sunday and runs through Sept. 24.
